Where can I refill my MetroCard on Staten Island?
Currently, Staten Island has only three locations with vending machines — at the St. George Ferry Terminal, the Tompkinsville SIR stop and the Eltingville Transit Center — that lets riders buy, refill or check the balance of MetroCards.
Can I buy a NYC MetroCard online?
– The only MetroCards available to purchase online are intended for people who need a card every month. If you are a visitor to NYC it is best to buy your card in the city. How to Buy MetroCards: – Vending machines will take cash, ATM cards, and all major credit cards.
Is there an OMNY MTA App?
The OMNY app is currently in the works for iOS and Android.
Do MetroCards really expire?
Whether Pay-Per-Ride or Unlimited Ride, every MetroCard has an expiration date. The date is located at the upper left corner on the back of the card. The expiration date is usually about one year from the date of purchase.
Can you add your MetroCard to OMNY?
Yes. The same pass-back rules that apply to MetroCard also apply to OMNY. You can tap and pay for yourself and up to 3 additional riders with the same payment method on a single trip.
Do I have to register for OMNY?
Creating an OMNY account is not required. However, there are many benefits available to you by registering for an OMNY account. For example, you can access a secure, personalized dashboard, where you can view up to 12 months of your trips and charges.
How do seniors use OMNY?
OMNY won’t be ready to support senior reduced-fare customers until later this year. Once we’re ready for them to transition to OMNY, existing reduced-fare customers will be able to choose how to use the system: with their own contactless debit or credit cards/linked smart devices or with a reduced-fare OMNY card.
Can you reload an expired MetroCard?
If your Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard expires, you have two years from the expiration date to transfer any remaining money to a new card. Within the first year after expiration, use a MetroCard Vending Machine to transfer the balance to a new card.
Can I transfer funds from an expired MetroCard?
If your card expires, you can transfer the balance to a new card. You have up to a year after the expiration date on the card to transfer the balance at a booth, a MetroCard Vending Machine or by mailing it in to MetroCard Customer Claims.
