Can you drive through Dogwood Canyon?
No outside vehicles are permitted on our trails. Trails are shared by hikers, bikers, fishing guests and the trams. No motorized vehicles or apparatus other than wheelchairs or ADA scooters are permitted in the park. Please call us at 417-348-3363 for these guidelines.
Do you have to wear a mask at Dogwood Canyon?
Face Masks Guests will not be required to wear a face covering onboard the wildlife tram or around the park but are welcome to.
Can you swim in Dogwood Canyon?
No, you can’t swim. Only fishing is allowed.
When was Dogwood Canyon built?
19th Century. During the 19th century, the land was occupied by settlers who built cabins that can be seen at the park today, dating back to the 1830s. Later, during World War I, mining for lead and zinc took place at Hobbs Creek at Dogwood Canyon.
Can you bring your own bikes to Dogwood Canyon?
There is no place better for biking than Dogwood Canyon. Bring your own bike or rent a single-speed, coaster-brake bike in a variety of sizes (including kiddie carts) and explore miles of paved, gently sloping paths for a day of exercise.

How long is the bike ride at Dogwood Canyon?
The trail is 3 miles each way, paved with asphalt the whole way, and 99% level. There’s a few very slight rises to ride over bridges over the stream, and a couple of places where you maybe have to ride up a 10 foot slope, but almost anyone should be able to handle this bike ride.

Excavation crews have removed 25,000 truckloads of rock and soil at the Top of the Rock sinkhole, which is now 100 feet deep and is destined to become a tourism draw, according to Bass Pro Shops officials. Tall pillars of rock are being exposed by excavator crews who are trying to find the bottom of the massive pit.
