What is the difference between debonair and solo air?
Debonair is the same as solo air but with a larger negative spring and a different balance/equalisation point. Dual-position air means don’t buy the bike that has that fork.
How does rockshox solo air work?
Rockshox Solo Air Technology: The enlightened Solo Air design allows you to ad air to your fork through a single schrader valve, filling both the positive and negative air spring chambers. This creates a perfect equilibrium with the air pressures of your fork.
How much air should I put in my rockshox?
Max pressure should not exceed 163 psi. Rebound suggestions are set from the full clockwise/full slow position. These suggestions are a recommended starting point. Your riding style, terrain, and bicycle geometry can benefit from further adjustments to tune your suspension for your preferences.
Can I upgrade solo air to DebonAir?
The best part: you can upgrade your SoloAir forks (all 35 mm single crown forks from RockShox) to the DebonAir system at home for as little as € 47. If you want to, you can also use the opportunity to change the travel on your fork or go ahead and give it a small service while you’re at it.
What does Solo Air fork mean?
This is the standard air spring seen on RockShox forks. It’s called Solo air because you only need to add air to a single valve and the spring will equalise the negative chamber by itself. At one point, they had a Dual Air spring that required you to do this via a second valve, hence the name.
What is RockShox DebonAir?
DebonAir forks have a self-equalizing air spring. At a specific point in the fork’s travel, the air piston passes by a dimple in the upper tube that opens a pathway between the positive and negative air chambers, allowing the pressure in the two chambers to equalize.
Are air forks better than spring?
Being able to easily change the spring rate before a ride makes air forks much more versatile. You can use the same bike for multiple types of mountain biking. For example, you could easily use the same bike for trail riding, bikepacking, enduro, and cross country riding with some minor adjustments.
What does solo air mean?
What psi should my MTB shock be?
As a rough guideline, you should aim for a sag of about 20 % for the fork and 30 % for the rear shock. If yours is less than that, you can simply let some air out. If it’s more than that, you can add air with a shock pump. Recommended percentages or not: What matters most is that you feel comfortable on your bike.
