Seeing this as a sign of rebellion, the Peacekeepers pulled him from the crowd, beat him multiple times, and then shot him in back of the neck, much to Katniss’ shock and horror. As this was happening, the man seemed to not be bothered about sacrificing himself for the rebellion cause.
