What grades do you need to get into Solihull Sixth Form?
You will need:
- At least two grade 6s at GCSE or merits on an equivalent course.
- At least a further three grade 4s at GCSE or equivalent, including at least grade 4 in GCSE English Language OR Mathematics, with at least grade 3 in the other one.
Does Solihull Sixth Form have a dress code?
Dress code is smart/casual. This means you do not have to wear school uniform. Jeans and trainers are fine. Please wear what you feel comfortable in, but keep the dress code appropriate, so no inappropriate slogans or revealing outfits please.
Does Solihull Sixth Form have a gym?
The College also has a Fitness Suite, which includes rowing machines, exercise bikes and weights, which is available after an induction session and health check.
What time does Solihull 6th form start?
We are currently operating a staggered timetable, with each year group starting and finishing lessons at different times to avoid unnecessary congestion on campus. The College day starts at 8.30am, but lessons don’t start until 9.00am / 9.30am and continue until 4.05pm. There is a 15-minute break in the morning.
Is Solihull sixth form Free?
What are the fees at the Sixth Form? There are no fees, as we only take students from the UK and the European Union, and those under the age of 18 years. We do ask for a voluntary contribution to the College Fund of £50, which supports the College and its work and helps fund enrichment courses.

What does Solihull College do?
Solihull College offers a variety of courses ranging from vocational courses to foundation-level programmes and apprenticeships. The College also offers a variety of university-level qualifications including HNCs and HNDs, foundation degrees, top-up degrees, master’s degrees and full BA degrees.
How long are lessons in college?
In college, classes can last around 50 minutes, meeting three days a week or twice a week, meeting for an hour and 15 minutes. A class that meets for an hour two or three days a week is a standard college schedule for full-time students.

Our Halls are the main way in which we support students with accommodation. Halls are used by students over the age of 18, trainers and teaching staff and members of the public requiring short term accommodation in the Solihull area.

Yes of course. There is someone in my year at school who has re-done ASs and A2s because his phone went off in one of his orignal A2s. There’s someone in the year below me who’s doing it aswell basically just because he failed – they’ll both have spent 4 years at 6th form.
Does Solihull College do A levels?
Solihull College & University Centre does not offer A-Level courses to our school leaver age students. The College offers a wide range of equivalent vocational provision in a wide range of subject areas, with progression routes leading to higher education and employment.
Do you have to pay for sixth forms?
Do students have to pay any fees? Students pay a £50 refundable deposit. On some courses, materials may need to be purchased as part of the course. Trips and visits need a small financial contribution.
What looks good on a sixth form application?
Good time-management- being able to read long texts and write essays. Concise note-taking and listening skills. Personal organisation- a lot of work, essays, wider reading etc. Responsible and hard-working- being able to complete the work at a high standard.

Are college classes everyday?
Class schedules remain the same day-to-day throughout school operating hours. On average, students attend six classes every day in the same building. While some classes such as electives only last for a fall or spring semester, other classes like English or math last the entire academic year.
