How GenICam works?
GenICam is a global set of standards to interface industrial cameras to computer software applications (such as machine vision). It allows a homogenization of the wording, the interfaces and the processes in image processing, acquisition and transport.
What is GenICam standard?
GenICam is an abreviation for generic interface for cameras. This is a machine vision standard which was created for the sole purpose of making it easy to integrate cameras into user-built software. It is essentially a common API for machine vision cameras that spans across companies.
What is GenTL producer?
A GenTL Producer is the software that allows specific camera hardware to be accessed by GenTL Consumers. More information on GenICam and the GenTL standards is available on the EMVA website: https://www.emva.org/standards-technology/genicam/
What is GigE camera?
Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) is the fastest growing interface for digital cameras in the field of industrial image processing. It is a universally applicable digital interface, which for the first time provides the potential to produce cameras that can replace analog devices in almost every application.
What is Camera Link interface?
Camera Link is a hardware specification that standardizes the connection between cameras and frame grabbers. It defines a complete interface that includes provisions for data transfer, camera timing, serial communications, and real-time signaling to the camera.
What is GenTL?
GenTL is the transport layer interface for enumerating cameras, grabbing images from the camera and moving images to the user application. GenGenApi enables listing and configuration of features available with a device.
What is GigE switch?
A switch with gigabit Ethernet ports will support a maximum transmission speed of one gigabit per second (Gbps). As with other types of Ethernet switches, a gigabit network switch will connect devices on a local area network.
What is GMSL2?
GMSL/GMSL2 Cameras The GMSL & GMSL2 cameras are SerDes cameras which can be used for longer distance. These cameras can be placed 15 meters away from host processor through coaxial cable and still to support less latency and high frame rate. It’s the world’s first fastest GMSL camera.
What is GenCP?
GenCP: (Generic Control Protocol) standardizes packet layout for the control protocol and is used by interface standards to re-use parts of the control path implementation.
Why do we use Gigabit switch?
It is designed to address the high speeds needs of internet service providers. Gigabit Ethernet switch, the higher version of Fast Ethernet switch, supports the transmission speed up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) (1000 Mbps). It is also backward compatible with the legacy 10/100 standard.
What is SFP port?
Small form-factor pluggable, or SFP, devices are hot-swappable interfaces used primarily in network and storage switches. The SFP ports on a switch and SFP modules enable the switch to connect to fiber and Ethernet cables of different types and speeds.
What is GMSL technology?
Maxim Integrated’s Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link™ (GMSL) serializer and deserializers (SerDes) are high-speed communication ICs that fully support the high bandwidth, complex interconnect, and data integrity requirements needed to support evolving automotive infotainment and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
What is Serde VLSI?
A SerDes or serializer/deserializer is an integrated circuit (IC or chip) transceiver that converts parallel data to serial data and vice-versa. The transmitter section is a serial-to-parallel converter, and the receiver section is a parallel-to-serial converter.
What is difference between gigabit switch and normal switch?
A Fast Ethernet switch can transfer data packets at a rate of 10 megabits per second. A Gigabit Ethernet switch transfers data packets at relatively higher speeds of one gigabit per second. In comparison, a Gigabit Ethernet switch can transfer data packets at around 100 times faster than a Fast Ethernet switch.
