This mini-series was huge when it first aired a V The Visitors(83′), followed by V The Final Battle(84′) For me, it was just as big as any sci-fi production or franchise that had been manufactured and still is. Factoring in the era, I believe it’s still the most expensive production ever created.

The weekly series reused a lot of action footage from the mini-series. This was especially evident in the Visitor skyfighter chase scene in the pilot episode, where nearly all external shots were lifted from the climax scene of the original mini-series.
What do you think of Star Wars V on TV?
Long before Independence Day (which relies heavily upon V’s opening shots) V hit TV as both a pilot and mini-series. I saw it as a kid and it was very entertaining, and reviewed it as an adult and found that the special effects were so “pre cgi” that it strongly detracted from the story’s presentation.
