What kind of foam do you use for needle felting?

Can you use any foam for needle felting?
There aren’t any manufacturers who specifically make needle felting foam, so suppliers test out various manufacturers, find which one they like the best, and that’s the one that ends up in the shop. Either way, it is more than likely a polyethylene foam, which is a petroleum based product.
What are felting pads made of?

How do you make needle felting not fuzzy?
If you’ve completely felted your piece and the surface is solid, you can actually use an electric shaver to remove the extra fuzzies. Of course, you’ll need to make sure your piece is felted as densely as you can get it. If it’s too soft, the razor will break the wool off, so be careful if you go this route.

Felted soap is simply a bar of soap wrapped in wool. This thin wool coat helps soap last longer, and makes slippery bars easier to hang on to. The wool is very gently exfoliating, and can replace a washcloth or bath pouf in the shower.
Can you unpick needle felting?
Never try to unpick with your felting needle as I guarantee it will break. Good needles are not cheap and you will spend the next thirty minutes trying to find the end before the dog eats it, or worse, sits on it!
