A remake of Xenogears is as unlikely as remakes of Xenosaga, the only difference is that game is owned by Square Enix. The relationship between Nintendo and Square is as good as it’s ever been, but I surmise the priority is making sure Team Asano games stay exclusive to Switch.
Why does Xenogears have 2 discs?
Perhaps the main reason why I enjoyed disc 2 was how it cut out essentially all filler and was a streamlined experience. Certain dungeons from disc 1 (looking at you Kislev Sewers and Babel Tower) were a chore to play through, and learning that I would have to go through very few dungeons in disc 2 was exciting.
