Can you put any steering wheel on a quick release?
Use any NRG Steering Wheel, they all work and fit the same as long as you have completed Step 1. You have the option to mount the wheel straight to the Short Hub but please note that some vehicles may require a ½” Spacer to avoid inference with the signal and wiper controls when using a non deep dish wheel.
Do I need a short hub for quick release?
The Quick Release is not a hub in itself, and must be installed in addition with a Short Hub Adapter. The Short Hub Adapter is the only vehicle specific part in our entire Quick Release kit.
Do you need a boss kit for a quick release?
In most cases, a quick release kit should be paired up with a short boss kit (hub) as using a standard length boss kit may bring the steering wheel too close to the driver’s chest. This is dependant on personal preference and driving position.
Are steering wheels without airbags illegal?
Answer: There is no law specifically related to steering wheel size. The only issue would be if the mounting of the steering wheel is secure which could become an “unsafe equipment” violation. It would be unsafe to replace the original steering wheel with one without an airbag.

If your vehicle comes with an airbag as standard fitment then the new steering wheel should also have an airbag. If it didn’t come with an airbag as standard fitment, then you won’t be able to install a replacement steering wheel with one.
