Tisbe are one of the smallest types of Copepods ranging in size from 15 microns nauplii to 200 micron in adult size.
Can you see tisbe pods?
These pods are very small, and are hard to see without a magnifying glass. The purpose behind this product is to introduce a pure strain of Tisbe copepods to your tank. If you have them already, you will gain little from purchasing this product.
How many copepods should I add to my tank?
Algagen recommends that you add one 8oz bottle of copepods for every 2′ of tank. So a 4ft long tank should get two 8oz bottles to establish a healthy population. Having an isolated refugium really helps to maintain a stable population of pods because it offers a safe haven for these little guys to populate and grow.
What do you feed tisbe pods?
Tisbee Pods are 100% viable. They will eat detritus, left over fish food, nuisance algae, and phytoplankton.
How fast do Tigger pods reproduce?

Do tisbe pods need light?
The light should be on a 12/12 and isn’t to keep the phyto alive it’s because pods do a little better with some light.
Can tisbe pods be refrigerated?
Tisbe pods reproduce quickly and can tolerate wide ranges in temperature, oxygen, and salinity, making them robust in culture and able to withstand refrigeration for storage.
How long can copepods live in a bottle?
Let the bottle stand at room temp for 2 hours to allow the temperature to rise. The Tigger-Pods can be poured directly into your refugium and/or main tank. They can live several weeks in the bottle, as long as they are fed and the bottle is open to the air.
