Is Uvic library open to the public?
As a visitor to the library, you are welcome to use our collections and resources. Material in the general collection is available for in-library use. If you would like to borrow materials, you can obtain a library card from the main loan desk. You will need to present a piece of government-issued photo ID.
Is Uvic library open during reading break?
Most campus services will be open as usual, including study space, libraries and CARSA.

Wrapped snacks are permitted such as chips, cookies, and candy. Other foods are not considered snack food and are not allowed.

How long is a term at UVic?
The UVic academic year is divided into a winter session and a summer session. When you register for winter session courses, you register for both the fall term (September-December) and the spring term (January-April) at the same time.

Why is food never allowed into the library?
Why? Garbage disturbs other library users and creates an unpleasant atmosphere that is not conducive to study and learning. Food debris may damage library property and may attract rodents and insects.

What are Clearihue’s hours of operation on December 24?
Note that on December 24, the Computer Help Desk and Clearihue A112 will be open until 4pm. All other locations will close at noon. We’ll be closed through New Year’s Day.
