Can companions wear faction armor?
Allows your companions to use faction armor disguises. Allows all of your vanilla humanoid companions to wear most kind of faction armors, while non-humanoids can carry them in their inventory without restrictions. Your companion disguised as a faction member will have similar effects to them as you do.
Can you give companions armor in Fallout: New Vegas?
Just give it to them and they will put it on. It has to be armor compatible with their faction though. I.e., Boone can wear NCR armor, Veronica BOS armor, etc. but neither will wear each others’ and they both will not wear Legion armor, Great Khan outfits, etc.

You can’t take companions, but there’s 2 companions you can travel with while in the dlc (but you’re trapped there until its over and you can’t do any of the side quests after its over).
